The Danish Viborg Municipality visit  Schools in Irbid

A Danish delegation from Viborg Municipality has visited six public and private schools in Irbid 8 – 11 December. Among others The Rosary Sisters School in Irbid on Monday December 9th 2013. The main purpose of the visits was to pursue a waste and recycling project and the distribution of the prizes to the students whom participated in the Danish funded recycling project initiated by Greater Irbid Municipality and Viborg. Among others the Danish delegation taught the skilled and very engaged pupils the difference between recycling and reuse.In total 540 pupils have participated directly in the project and are now ambassadors for the green agenda in Irbid.

A delegation from the Danish Academy visit Yarmouk




Dr. Abdullah Al – Mousa President of Yarmouk University received a delegation from the Danish Academy for Business and Technology chaired by Mrs. Lise Mejlhede dean of Dania Academy for Business and Technology, in the presence of Khaled Abu Zeid Governor of Irbid, where they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between both sides, especially in the fields of tourism and business development.

During the meeting Al – Mousa has stated out the development process that has been taking place in Yarmouk University, especially the developed of the faculties of medicine and pharmacy preceded by the College of Tourism and Hotel Management, in addition to create a number of majors in engineering, that can contribute  to meet the needs of the local regional market, by its qualified graduates who have  received their education by the hands of qualified professors, according to the up to date study plans that are taking place in various fields today

From the other side Mrs. Lise Mejlhede was keen to strengthen the academic cooperation with the University of Yarmouk, which is famous for having a scientific and prestigious reputation internationally, pointing out that the academy has 13 programs in the field of Business and Technology, IT, Marketing Management , Hospitality and Tourism .

Dr. Mousa has signed a  memorandum of scientific cooperation shared between Yarmouk University,The Danish academy,Irbid,Greater Irbid Municipality,Chamber of Industry,and Chamber of Commerce in the field of education and the development of business and tourism in order to encourage the development of tourism between Denmark as part of Scandinavia and Jordan, and training in Danish companies and Jordanian tourism operators and public sector departments and the exchange of students, professors and organizing teaching and learning, and training trips, as well as workshops for the development of networks for the purpose of sharing knowledge about the methods, methodologies and tools used in both countries. The vice President of the University has attended both the meeting and the signing of ceremony.
